European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control or ECDC has released a map of all European Union and EFTA countries,classifying the countries according to the reported cumulative number of confirmed fatal cases of Influenza.They have broadly divided the countries,into two groups:only cases reported[light yellow] and cases and deaths reported[labeled as dark yellow]They hane further classified the countries in terms of deaths among confirmed H1N1 cases.

FluMist,is a live influenza virus vaccine that has been approved by FDA.It is actually the trade name of the intranasal influenza vaccine prepared by MedImmune, LLC.

As reported buy the FDA,this vaccine is indicated for prevention of influenza caused by viruses influenza type A and B,in healthy children and adolescents, 5-17 years of age, and healthy adults, 18-49 years of age.

FINALLY,FDA APPROVES VACCINES FOR H1N1 INFLUENZA VIRUS,2009

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration[FDA] has recently approved four vaccines against the 2009 H1N1 influenza virus.FDA has reported these vaccines have induced a strong immune response,usually starting 8-10 days after a single dose.Studies are underway to determine the exact dose in children.

Contraindications:Individuals with severe allergic reactions to chicken eggs,should not be vaccinated.

Side effects:The vaccine have been reported to be well tolerated,with the common side effect being pain and soreness at the injection site[for,injectable vaccine].

H1N1 PANDEMIC: WHO: GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRIBUTION

World Health Organisation has released a geographic representation of the present status of H1N1 pandemic as of 13th august 2009.In this map they represented the countries with laboratory test confirmed case by orange color.They have also stratified the countries according to the cumulative deaths due to H1N1 flu.

The smallest circle represents areas with cumulative deaths between 1- 10,the second circle between 11-50,third circle 51-100,the largest circle with cumulative deaths between 101 and more.
